Topic: CentOS link broken?

Hey all.

I am SysAdmin (in training) and I need to set up sftp access. MySecureShell looks like a great thing to use but I am having trouble installing.

Following all instructions, and setting up the repo, I get an error and I see the pages are 404.

http://mysecureshell.free.fr/repository … $basearch/

Repos set up:

[mysecureshell]
name=MySecureShell
baseurl=http://mysecureshell.free.fr/repository/index.php/centos/$basearch/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

But I get this error when I try to yum install mysecureshell

http://mysecureshell.free.fr/repository … repomd.xml: [Errno 12] Timeout: <urlopen error timed out>
Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: mysecureshell. Please verify its path and try again

Any ideas? I have done a yum clean all but it looks like the link may be out of date or broken.

Hey teka.

I have set this up on one of my systems that uses CentOS 5.8. It works brilliantly so far.

I am trying to set it up on another system that is using CentOS 6 (now upgraded to 6.3) but I can't find any details for this new version.

Can MySecureShell be used with CentOS 6.3? I have downloaded the repo but it is not performing the same way as it did on the first server.

Looking at the version (MySecureShell --version shows:

MySecureShell is version 1.25 build on Jan 15 2011

Options:
  ACL support: yes
  UTF-8 support: yes

Sftp Extensions:
  Disk Usage
  Disk Usage (OpenSSH)
  File Hashing

so I assume this is installed correctly)

Hey Teka.

My bad. I have managed to get it set up fine now. I was being a nub.

Only main difference is where the config files are stored when installed, though it may be a system specific thing with our set up.

Thank you for all your help. I will try to keep you updated with anything I find while using MySecureShell.

There is no manual on the mysecureshell website. Is there a manual in english anywhere?
my requirements are fairly simple. I have one sftp user that I need to limit to a directory and it's subdirectories to upload and download files.
