Topic: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

Hello

I'm on ubuntu intrepid. I have the version 1.0 of the package which has been installed by the repository and aptitude. I can't upgrade it now...

$  grep mysecureshell /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://mysecureshell.free.fr/repository … php/ubuntu testing main
deb-src http://mysecureshell.free.fr/repository … php/ubuntu testing main

$  aptitude show mysecureshell
Paquet : mysecureshell
Nouveau: oui
État: installé
Automatiquement installé: non
Version : 1.0

"dpkg -l" gives the same result. "sudo aptitude safe-upgrade" says nothing...

Thanks

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

And after updating the list of package ?

With command: "apt-get update"

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

I always update before upgrading. I even tried by aptitude and apt-get, same result.

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

After testing, it work as expected under my ubuntu...

Under aptitude, do you see the update of MySecureShell ?

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

It's very weird.

On my ubuntu intrepid, it seems the package details can't be updated. I removed it temporarily by aptitude remove.

After sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude safe-upgrade, I still have
$ aptitude show mysecureshell
Pas de version courante ou candidate trouvée pour mysecureshell
Paquet : mysecureshell
Nouveau: oui
État: non installé
Version : 1.0
Priorité : optionnel
Section : net

Whereas aptitude update works, I'm sure of it. And no matter if I have the lines of the repository in /etc/apt/sources.list. Same results.

On another pc (with jaunty), with the same internet connection and the exact same lines in /etc/apt/sources.list (copy&paste), everything works, package installable.

Do you think it can occur because of my pc ? I'm pretty sure I installed mysecureshell from the repository. I've never seen such a thing.
(I think I will reinstall it by downloading the package to do it quickly, but I'd like to know...).

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

I've found the problem !

The PC where I can't upgrade (now install...) mysecureshell is on AMD64...
Do you have a repository for AMD64 architectures ?

http://mysecureshell.free.fr/repository … 4/Packages seems to be empty. Is it right ?

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

Ah this time only package i386 is available smile

But we are working hard to restore 64bits package (for next version i hope)

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

I took the mysecureshell_ubuntu_1.15.amd64.deb at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysecureshell/files/ and it seems to work well after having dpkg-ed it. Can't it be possible to take this in the repos ?

Well, anyway I'll end by saying I'm using MSS by a very long time (version 0.5 I think), and it's a very good piece of code. Thanks very much for that.

Re: [Ubuntu] upgrade package

I have some problem with the repository x86_64... so I hope that next version will be ok smile

Thanks for your support ! big_smile
